About Us

For over 20 years, Infinity Fiber (IF) Inc has been a World Leader in the Custom Design/Manufacturing of all variations of fiber optic cable and harness systems.

We guide our clients through the complete process, from initial design and prototype phase to large scale production. We manufacture 100% of our products in the USA, using the highest-grade materials and production equipment. We are ISO 9001:2017/AS 9100 certified and IPC/WHMA-A-620 compliant. Also, SAM,CAGE, DLA and ITAR Registered and are a SDVOSB company. We have the capability to deliver time sensitive requests in days – not weeks or months. Inquiries are handled in minutes—not days.

With our highly experienced workforce and semi-automated production line, we are competitive with anyone on cost–while delivering the highest quality in the industry.

Our clients range from the largest OEMs in the world to startups and individuals. All clients get the same focused, high-quality service.

What We Do

Infinity Fiber (IF) is a world leader in the manufacturing of custom solutions of all types of fiber optic cable and harnesses for a wide variety of industries that include Defense, Aerospace, Telecom, Medical, Labs/Test/R & D etc.

We serve a wide range of clients from startups to the largest OEMs.

The key to our success is that we are agnostic about the solutions we can provide. Since we have gained wide experience with almost all the fiber or connector systems on the market today, we can provide the very best product that will meet your needs.

From our humble home office beginnings over 20 years ago, to our new, semi-automated production facility located in Southern California (we are 100% made in the US), IF has emphasized quality from day one! Things like our proprietary polishing procedures produce precise end-face geometry results that offer customers world-class quality and value!

This unique, world class experience we have in the fiber optic industry is also the result of many R and D development projects we have collaborated on over the years with many of the of the world’s leading Universities and State and Private R and D facilities.

In addition to world-class products, we also provide a myriad of additional services. These include consulting on your current fiber challenges or R and D projects that involve all aspects of fiber optic cable and harness systems, including copper and composite harness systems.

We also offer a well-developed contract manufacturing program with options such as private labeling and drop (blind) shipping as needed. This service is frequently integrated in our system integration program with OEMs where we coordinate our products to ship JIT as you integrate our products into a more complete system assembly.
We are confident we can provide you with the world-class solutions that meet your needs.

YOUR CHALLENGES—OUR WORLD CLASS SOLUTIONS

Cutting Edge Manufacturing with Advanced Construction Methods

Once again, Infinity Fiber is proud to lead the charge in precision fiber optics manufacturing with our cutting edge laser cleaver processes.

What is a Laser Cleaver?

A laser cleaver is a high-precision, non-contact tool that uses a localized laser beam to cut optical fibers, offering a superior alternative to mechanical blade cleaving by eliminating core cracks, chips, and hackles. It works by directing high-energy laser pulses at a specific point on the fiber, causing the material to melt or vaporize, resulting in a clean, high-quality, and often angled or flat face suitable for immediate splicing or termination.

How a Laser Cleaver Works
Unlike mechanical cleavers that use a diamond or carbide blade to scratch and snap the fiber, laser cleavers use light energy for a contactless process.

  • Focused Beam: The system focuses a laser beam on a specific spot on the optical fiber.
  • Precise Thermal Processing: The concentrated heat from the laser causes the glass to melt, vaporize, or break.
  • Precision Termination: This method allows for high-accuracy cutting of fibers, including those already housed within complex assemblies, such as ferrules or connectors.
  • Adjustable Geometry: The laser can be controlled to create specific end-face angles, which is critical for specialized optical applications.

Key Advantages of Laser Cleaving
Superior Quality:

  • Minimizes or removes the need for subsequent polishing, reducing defects like cracks or, chips.
  • Versatility: Ideal for cutting fiber, including ribbon fibers (MT ferrules), where it ensures uniform height across all fibers.
  • Efficiency: Improves first-pass yield and, in many cases, is more automated and consistent than manual methods.
  • Reduced Damage: The non-contact method prevents mechanical stress and damage to the fiber tip.

Laser cleavers are commonly used in manufacturing or research environments where high-accuracy termination of glass fibers, particularly in connectors, is required.
